Facebook Fan Page – what is it?

Facebook fans page is very close to a personal Profile page allowed to individuals. It also has wall for posts and messages, and Page Administrator may respond to them, whether under his or her real name or under the name of the page. Every business should think and set up such page. It is really important to keep in touch with your customers.
It is very easy to become a fan of the page – just hit “like” and then a notification arrives that you have become a fan. Another way is to find a way to the fan page through Info tab which leads right to the fan page and invites to join to fun over there.

The number of “likes” is also displayed on the page, so everyone will know how popular the page is.

The page is actually more convenient to manage as it is really close to a profile page (which everyone knows how to handle). The minus of the page is that the function of direct messaging is disabled, and the system of updates is introduced instead. There are no obvious signal that the update took place so it is up to fans to go and check it right on the page. So no way to message your Facebook fans privately, a pity, but business page was not intended for it.

How to Serve Facebook Groups

It works like an email group or a forum – you can manually regulate who is allowed to join or make it absolutely open for new members. Or vice versa – allow joining it only through personal invitation of a group member. On a group there presides an administrator who allows or denies access to new members and moderates discussions. Administrator may nave assistants if the group is large enough – they are called officers. Now attention – a group page allows sending private messages and they will get immediate notification, but your group should keep its population under 5,000 members. Besides, it is very easy to ask all your friends to join and they can invite their friends, and so on. The Fan page allows only spontaneous joining in through personal interests and maybe after some hint from a friend.

So decide for yourself which way of business boosting to choose, but if you can have the both – why don’t you? This gives you the doubled marketing space, after all.
